Stuartholme School is a Years 5–12 Catholic day and boarding school for girls, located in Brisbane and part of the international network of Sacred Heart Schools. Guided by the values of the Society of the Sacred Heart, our mission is to educate young women to be confident, compassionate, and socially aware leaders who are committed to justice and the dignity of every person.

Our Indigenous Education Program is a vital expression of this mission. In 2024, the program supported students from Years 7 to 12, the majority of whom are boarders. Grounded in strong cultural identity and personal growth, the program provides a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. The Indigenous Education Program is enriched by tailored academic support, mentoring, and leadership opportunities, alongside culturally responsive wellbeing initiatives in our Boarding House.

Key highlights in 2024 included the commissioning of a First Nations artwork titled Harmony of Spirits: The Foundation of Sisterhood, created by alumna Danielle Leedie Gray. This powerful piece was unveiled in a student-led liturgy during Reconciliation Week and now holds a central place in the school as a visual symbol of connection, culture, and community. Our students also led and contributed to National Sorry Day, NAIDOC Week, and Harmony Day liturgies, sharing culture, truth, and storytelling with the broader school community.

We are proud of the role our First Nations students play in shaping Stuartholme’s inclusive culture and look forward to continuing our partnership with AIEF to support students to realise their aspirations and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
