“I never would have been in the position I am today if it wasn’t for AIEF. I felt extremely supported throughout my schooling life and beyond.”

Bridget’s journey began on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait and led her to Pymble Ladies’ College in Sydney on an AIEF Scholarship. During secondary school, she was elected as the Head Boarding School Prefect and was the first Indigenous girl in this role.

Today, she’s working as an Enrolled Nurse while studying a Bachelor of Medical Science, with her sights set on becoming a doctor.

“I never would have been in the position I am today if it wasn’t for AIEF.  I felt extremely supported throughout my schooling life and beyond.”

Bridget’s story is one of resilience, determination and care. She’s proud of the opportunities she’s embraced and passionate about giving back through healthcare especially in communities like the one she grew up in.

Her journey is a powerful example of the AIEF Difference – how potential becomes progress when young Indigenous Australians are supported through the opportunity of quality education.

Your generous support will help provide scholarships, career pathways and mentoring so students and alumni can turn potential into progress.
