From 1215 September nine AIEF Scholarship students attended the Australian Defence Force Exercise First Look program at the Army Logistics Training Centre in Albury.
Students explored career paths in the Australian Defence Force in health, engineering and trades including mechanics, electronics, carpentry and plumbing and took part in simulated weapons training, personal training sessions and a controlled firefighting demonstration. They enjoyed dinner with local Elders, were able to observe recruits in training at Kapooka and met with participants of the Indigenous Pre Recruit Program.
Students also had the opportunity to hear from Indigenous service men and women including AIEF Alum Thomas Boase, a Lieutenant with the Australian Army.
