On 21 and 28 March 2014 AIEF Alumni from QLD and NSW attended the inaugural AIEF Alumni Connect events in Brisbane and Sydney.
The new event gives AIEF Alumni an opportunity to share their experiences and build stronger relationships and networks with one another in a fun, informal setting. At the inaugural events, generously hosted by the NRL, Alumni joined members of the AIEF Transition Support Team for dinner and NRL games at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
The events attracted 31 Alumni including university students undertaking degrees in Paramedics and Law, Apprentice Carpenters and Business Trainees. Older Alumni advised recent Year 12 graduates on a range of issues, from successfully managing a university study schedule to juggling study with part-time work.
Both events were a success, with one of the Alumni remarking: It gives us all an opportunity to come together and share our experience, so that we can encourage each other to get the very best out of life; while another said: “Thanks for a great night!! I had a blast at dinner meeting people and watching the game, really appreciate the work you guys do!”.
