On Monday 13 May 2013, AIEF students from Knox Grammar School and Loreto Normanhurst attended an AIEF Food for Thought Boardroom Lunch at AIEF corporate partner KPMG. The students met CEO Geoff Wilson, Head of Corporate Citizenship Catherine Hunter and Heather McIlwain, Talent Strategy Director.
The event was a great success and provided a valuable opportunity for the students to network with executive staff at a large organisation and hear about factors that led to their success.
The students also shared aspects of their backgrounds and future aspirations. All students commented afterwards they found the lunch highly beneficial and enjoyable. James and Connor were impressed by Geoffs encouraging advice, Whatever you want to do, give it 100%. Tegan and Tarne really enjoyed seeing that successful people were real people. It made us feel like we could be successful too.
Food for Thought is part of the AIEF Pathways Program that prepares students on AIEF scholarships for life post-school and supports their transition from school through tertiary studies or employment into productive and fulfilling careers.
