AIEF recently held the Learn It! Live It! Work Readiness Workshop for Year 11 students from schools in Queensland and Western Australia. The event was hosted by Perpetual at their Brisbane office, and 29 students attended from Partner Schools in Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Perth.
Students participated in sessions on the importance of self-care, identifying and utilising strengths and values, and developing their presentation skills.
The day concluded with guest speaker Selwyn Power, who studies at the Aboriginal Performing Arts Centre, delivering a musical performance and speaking about his perseverance and resilience throughout the audition process and his move from Bowen to Brisbane.
