On Tuesday 24 November 2015 the joint winners of AIEF’s “If I were Prime Minister…” competition, AIEF scholars Matthew and Wyatt, travelled to Canberra to meet the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition and senior politicians from both sides of the house.

The Year 11 students, from Scotch College, Perth and Ipswich Grammar School respectively, met with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the leader of the Opposition, Bill Shorten, along with Tanya Plibersek, Deputy Leader of the Opposition; Nigel Scullion, Minister for Indigenous Affairs; Shayne Neumann, Shadow Minister for Indigenous Affairs; Ken Wyatt AM, Assistant Minister for Health; and Nova Peris OAM, Senator for the Northern Territory, who generously invited the students to join her for lunch in the Members’ Guests Dining Hall with Jo Lindgren, Senator for Queensland.
